Long Grove Fire Protection District firefighter/paramedics and Lake County Sheriff’s deputies responded about 12:40 a.m. Wednesday to a fatal hit-and-run incident at Route 53 and Route 83 in Long Grove
A 66-year-old female pedestrianwas found unresponsive in the outside northbound traffic lane of Route 83 at the intersection. The was transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where she was pronounced dead.
Sheriff’s officials has not release her identity before the victim’s family is notified.
Lake County Sheriff officials are seeking witnesses and information regarding the fatal hit-and-run accident. Any citizens who may have information regarding the accident are urged to call the Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit at 847-549-5200.
