Trees and Branches Down, Power Line Trouble in High Winds

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded to reports of trees and branches down during high winds Tuesday afternoon.

A a major part of a tree fell at the intersection of Waterman and Gregory about 1:30 p.m.

Larges branches fell on Sigwalt Street between Dunton and Vail Avenue about 1:30 p.m. (discovered by officer on patrol).

A large branch from a parkway tree fell down in the southbound lane of Walnut Avenue late afternoon (discovered by officer on patrol).

A large tree branch took down a power line and a cable television line in the 300 block of West Mueller (discovered by officer on patrol). The power line was live on the ground late afternoon.

A report of a transformer explosion and power failure in the neighborhood near the 1500 block of Lincoln Court and on East Charles Street. Police confirmed a power failure in the area late afternoon.

A report of a transformer explosion and power failure near Wilke and Dundee on the south side of Dundee about 8:00 p.m.
