Physics teacher and “The Voice” of varsity night football games on Friday nights and varsity basketball games, John E. Harth formerly of Arlington Heights died Thursday, February 28, 2008, in San Diego. A memorial service for John E. Harth, 84, of San Diego, Calif., will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at the First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, 302 N. Dunton, Arlington Heights [MAP/SAT]. Born June 6, 1923, in Arlington Heights,  Mr. Harth was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a retired teacher for Arlington High School and was former president of District 214 Teachers’ Association. He was the husband of Ruth Harth; father of Fred (Joy) Harth and Karen (Dave) Kotovsky; grandfather of Jordin, Cameron and Karissa; brother of MaryJane Slattery and the late Florence Dalton; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Beloit College Science Center, Development Department, 700 W. College St., Beloit, WI 53511. Arrangements were made by Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, Arlington Heights, 847-253-5423.
