Chicago Cop Injured When DUI Driver Crashes Head On Into Squad Car

SAT FEB 23 2008 2200 CST — A Chicago Police officer, whose name has not been released, was slightly injured when 26-year-old Ramiro Salgado drove his SUV head on into a CPD squad car at 3900 South Morgan Street [MAP/SAT].

Salgado was charged with felony aggravated drunken driving after he was determined to have a blood alcohol content of .22 percent. He was also charged with driving with an open liquor container, driving without insurance, and driving with a suspended license.

Bail was set at $25,000. Salgado, who was not injured, was sent to Cook County Jail.
