10 Arrested on West Victoria Drive in Mount Prospect After Police Deploy Pepper Spray for Fight

Mount Prospect police requested paramedics after pepper spray was used to quell a disturbance in the 1700 block of West Victoria Drive just after 9:30 p.m. Thursday. Two rescue-ambulances responded to the scene, and a third ambulance responded to the Mount Prospect lockup to treat a subject that was in custody at Mount Prospect police headquarters.

At least four males (one possibly a juvenile) and two adult females were transported in custody to Mount Prospect police headquarters. Later, two male juveniles and two others were also transported in custody to Mount Prospect police headquarters. Police responded in the area of Victoria Hills for a fight.

A rescue-ambulance from Elk Grove Township fire department assisted Mount Prospect firefighter/paramedics. One victim was transported for an injury or injuries as a result of being struck in the side by a baseball bat. Two others were transported as a result of pain and discomfort from pepper spray.

Six adult residents from Arlington Heights(2) and Mount Prospect(4) were charged with disorderly conduct Thursday night. Adults charged were Mariela Cruz, 43, of the 1000 block of East Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights; Enrique Banos, 36, of the 1000 block of East Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights; Laura Castillo, 37, of the 1700 block of Forest Cove Drive, Mount Prospect; Karina Banos, 34, of 1800 block of Phillip Drive, Mount Prospect; Salvador Nava, 27, of the 1900 block of West Algonquin Road, Mount Prospect; and Jorge Castillo, 36, of the 1700 block of Victoria Drive, Mount Prospect.

Four juveniles were also charged with disorderly conduct — a 17-year-old from Arlington Heights, a 17-year-old from Mount Prospect, a 16-year-old from Mount Prospect, and a 13-year-old from Mount Prospect.
