A homeless man with admitted gang affiliation named Marko Guardiola, 37, and a 15-year-old Elk Grove Township boy were charged Tuesday with the stabbing death last week of 52-year-old Jean Louis Wattecamps in his Mount Prospect apartment. The juvenile male was charged as an adult, but police have not released his name.

Jean Louis Wattecamps was found dead with multiple stab wounds on his sofa in the living room of his apartment on the 2300 block of South Lexington Drive near Oakton.

Mark Guardiola is an admitted Latin King member with an extensive criminal history that includes 47 prior arrests.

A relative of Jean Wattecamps called police after Wattecamps failed to come to work and did not answer his telephone. Mount Prospect police responded to find the front door to Wattecamps’ apartment open when they arrived, and then discovered the crime scene.

Apparently the victim and both offenders recently met each other.

According to Mount Prospect Police Department, Jean Wattecamps worked for American Airlines at O’Hare International Airport.
