Roger Avary, “Pulp Fiction” Co-writer Arrested in Fatal DUI in Ojai, California

The Academy Award-winning co-writer of the film “Pulp Fiction” Roger Avary, 42, was arrested for alleged felony DUI, driving under the influence, and booked at the Ventura Country Jail (bail posted at $50,000).

Killed was Andreas Zedini, 34, of Italy, who died at Ventura County Medical Center after he was extricated from the crash vehicle near Ojai Lumber Company at 1900 East Ojai Avenue [MAP/SAT].

Roger Avary’s wife Gretchen, 40, was seriously injured when she was ejected from the vehicle as the crash occurred just before 1:00 a.m. Sunday.

In 1995, Roger Avary won an Academy Award for co-writing the movie “Pulp Fiction” with film director Quentin Tarantino.
