A woman was trapped in her car when she hit a tree in the 3200 block of North Arlington Heights Road [MAP/SAT] a little before 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in Arlington Heights. The crash on the S-curve of Arlington Heights Road just south of Dundee Road injured one woman driver in her Mercury Tracer (1997-1999 model). The accident occurred in heavy traffic on the northbound side of Arlington Heights road on the curve that straightens north toward Dundee Road.

The 9-1-1 call was initially directed to Buffalo Grove Fire Department, but dispatchers were able to tell from the exact location that the rescue call was in Arlington Heights. Arlington Heights Fire Department and Buffalo Grove Fire Department responded to the call. The Buffalo Grove Tower Ladder Company was first on the scene and was set up for extrication.

An extra Arlington Heights rescue squad was called for manpower, as extreme cold weather may have required rotation of manpower if the extrication was prolonged.
