Resident Let Solicitor in the Door on Olive, Now Realizes Money is Missing

Arlington Heights police received a report about 3:00 p.m Saturday that a female solicitor was allowed in the house in the 0-99 block of East Olive Street, and that afterward the homeowner realized that money was missing. Arlington Heights police are investigating.

THEFT: Offender came to the complainant’s residence and offered to sell them some magazines. When the victim declined the offer the offender asked for a $5 donation. The victim agreed to the donation, and walked to the kitchen with the offender following. After giving the offender the donation and getting a receipt, the offender asked for a Band-Aid. When the victim left to get the item, the offender removed cash from the victim’s purse which was left in the kitchen. After the offender left, the victim realized the theft had occurred.

Offender Description: Female – White – 17 to 18 yrs old – 5’02” – heavy build – wearing blue jeans, black jacket.
