Investigators searched a muddy stretch of remote central Illinois on Saturday for the remains of Stacy Peterson, the fourth wife of Drew Peterson, a former Bolingbrook, Illinois police officer.
On June 3 2010, Drew Peterson is alleged to have told an inmate in jail how and where he and an accomplice buried his fourth wife. The inmate informed authorities and police then spoke to the alleged accomplice. The alleged accomplice then told police how they allegedly buried the body in a metal drum in Metamora, Illinois, a suburb of Peoria, Illinois located in Woodford County, Illinois about 140 miles southwest of Chicago. Police dug at a muddy location with thick brush and woods on June 5 2010. Peterson’s last known jail location is the Will County Adult Detention Facility in Joliet.
