Concerned Citizen Calls in DUI Driver Near Rand and 53, Arrest Follows

Arlington Heights police received a report about 10:00 p.m. Friday of a female driver that appeared to be DUI on Rand Road southeastbound near Route 53. An Arlington Heights police squad was already located at Arlington Heights Road and Palatine Road. Another police squad arrived in the area to assist. The original caller updated the 9-1-1 center that the car was approaching Arlington Heights Road and Rand Road, and police located the silver Mitsubishi Eclipse. The police waited for a traffic violation, and committed to a traffic stop at Rand and Beverly.

A female driver was arrested DUI by 10:10 p.m. Friday. She was transported to Arlington Heights police headquarters in custody. Her silver Mitsubishi Eclipse was towed to a police holding area.
