A Groot Garbage Truck was reported to have driven southbound on Arlington Heights Road and clipped a power line. The power line is down on the ground across Arlington Heights Road near Thomas Avenue [MAP/SAT]. Cable television and telephone lines are also down. Arlington Heights Fire Department is managing the scene, but there is no fire reported. The garbage truck did not stop at the scene. The driver, who apparently did not know his truck hit the line, was called back to the scene.
The Arlington Heights Police have blocked northbound Arlington Heights Road at Olive and Southbound Arlington Heights Road at Maude Avenue. Commonwealth Edison is en route.
