On-Line Dating Scam: A male victim met an unknown person posing as a female on an online dating service. After communicating for five months via email, the offender explained that she was sending him two of her modeling pay checks to deposit. The male Arlington Heights resident was then supposed to send her part of those funds to help her purchase a plane ticket to come and meet him. He did receive the checks, but called the police to report the suspicious activity. The potential victim was not scammed out of any funds.
