Magnitude 6.4 Earthquake Hits Taiwan

Originally reported as a 6.5 magnitude earthquake … a 6.4 Magnitude earthquake has been reported in Taiwan.

The earthquake struck at 00:18:53 UTC and the epicenter is about half way between Maolin and Yanping. The location is also in Taitung County — a county in eastern Taiwan, which literally means “Eastern Taiwan”. The area is mountainous and isolated from Taiwan’s main populated areas.

  1. Are we near the end of the world? So many earthquakes in these couple of months that it is unreal! Kind of scary that it even hit Arlington Heights!
