Regina Dominican High School is a small (400 student) all-girls Catholic high school in Wilmette, Illinois. Located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago, it was founded in 1958 and is sponsored by the Adrian Dominican Sisters.

A noxious odor that caused some student to vomit was reported just before 2:00 p.m. Firefighters arrived and confirmed the odor on the second floor of the school building. A ‘half-day’ was already scheduled for a faculty meeting, but the odor was reported shortly after dismissal. The building was evacuated and the hazmat extra alarm was requested by Wilmette Fire Department. Crews ventilated the building and investigated the odor, which was similar to pepper spray.
