Arlington Heights Fire Department firefighters fought a small basement fire about 10:10 a.m. Friday in the 1100 block of North Carlyle Court. Firefighters found light smoke on the first floor after resident reported seeing flames near the sump pump of the basement. Thick smoke in the basement made it difficult to find the seat of the fire, but firefighters quickly knocked down the fire and ventilated the house.
Buffalo Grove Fire Department, Prospect Heights Fire Department and Mount Prospect Fire Department assisted Arlington Heights Fire Department. No injuries were reported. Firefighters were picking up at the scene at about noon.
