Arlington Heights police received a report just after midnight Thursday that a silver SUV drove across property and hit something in the 1700 block of East Burr Oak. The driver of the vehicle fled. The vehicle is expected to have extensive front end damage because it hit a brick garage. Residents of the house reported that a vehicle drove across their property, and that the vehicle hit something because it made a loud noise.

When police arrived they found a license plate under a pile of bricks — part of structural damage that occurred to the garage.

Arlington Heights police caught up with the vehicle and arrested one male about 12:35 a.m. Thursday.
