Smoke, No Fire at Woodfield Parking Garage Near Macy’s

Schaumburg Fire Department responded to a report about 5:30 pm. Monday of smoke in the parking garage near Macy’s at W Row One near an elevator. No fire was visible. Schaumburg firefighters found an overheated hydraulic oil reservoir mechanism that works elevators in the parking garage. Firefighters checked all elevator cars to make sure people were evacuated from all elevator cars. The power was then disconnected to the affected elevators, and a call for maintenance and repair was requested.
