Heavy, Wet Snow Causing Some Power Problems

#ad▼

Power lines were strained due to the weather in Buffalo Grove and Mount Prospect Tuesday night. Heavy, wet snow caused power lines to fall across Lake Cook Road near Arlington Heights Road. Buffalo Grove police had to block Lake Cook Road west of Arlington Heights Road until Com Ed crews came to repair the lines. The traffic signal was out in all directions at Lake Cook and Arlington Heights Road. In Mount Prospect a pole snapped and caught fire at Forest Avenue and Oriole Lane.

Many trees and shrubs are weighted down by heavy snow that collected on branches.
