A witness told police that a victim was being chased by three males about 7:45 p.m. on the 6300 block of North Paulina Street and then beaten. At least one of the offenders was using a shiny object in the beating.
The beaten teen was found lying in the road with blood covering his face and arms when police and Chicago Fire Department paramedics arrived.
The unidentified victim, about 14 years-old was listed in critical condition at Children’s Memorial Hospital undergoing surgery for head trauma, including a skull fracture.
