Arlington Heights Fire Department responded to an accident on Interstate 90, just east of Elmhurst Road about 2 p.m. Sunday.
Arlington Heights paramedics called for mutual aid for an additional ambulance each from Elk Grove Township Fire Protection District and Des Plaines Fire Department for multiple injuries at the accident scene.
Rescue units started to clear the scene at about 2:40 p.m.
