Solicitor Complaint on Highland Avenue

#ad▼

Arlington Heights police received a report about 11 a.m. of a solicitor complaint near Highland and Thomas Avenue. A resident complained that a female solicitor selling “magazines for a scholarship” returned for door-to-door sales after being told not to return last week. The solicitor also did not leave when she was asked to leave the property — a violation of village ordinance.

The female solicitor was described as white — in her late teens or early twenties. She was described wearing a black shirt and tan Capri pants.

An Arlington Heights police officer caught up with the alleged solicitor near Arlington Heights Road and Thomas Avenue.

Police also received a complaint in the 800 block of South Burton Place regarding a male/white solicitor and a male/black solicitor just after noon.

Solicitors are usually checked for criminal history and outstanding warrants for their arrest. If their background is clear, they are usually reminded of village ordinances, given warnings or arrested. If their background shows a hit on computer databases they are arrested.
