Rollover Accident on Rt 53 at Rand Rd

One car on its side and one destroyed in the southbound lanes of Route
53 just after midnight early Sunday morning. Three Palatine Fire
ambulances and an Arlington Heights Fire Department ambulance responded
with Palatine’s heavy rescue equipment. Patients were transported to
Northwest Community and Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove
Village as Northwest’s ER was overcrowded. All southbound lanes of Route 53 blocked
for over 30 minutes.
