High Number of Crashes Continues Tuesday Night

After a high number of crashes during the morning rush, Tuesday night brought several more crashes in Arlington Heights, Barrington, Des Plaines, Elk Grove Village and Hoffman Estates.

Starting with Barrington, there was a three-vehicle crash reported at 9:19 p.m. at Algonquin Road and Palatine Road. Barrington firefighter/paramedics reported three vehicles involved with moderate to heavy damage in a rear-end type crash.

Next, in Elk Grove Village there was a rollover crash at 10:01 p.m. that blocked westbound Higgins Road. There was no entrapment but the rolled over vehicle remained overturned for at least 20 minutes while police and firefighters waited for a tow. Elk Grove Village police blocked westbound Higgins Road while waiting for Cook County Sheriff’s deputies and Illinois State Troopers to arrive. Several motorists were stranded on Higgins Road in the forest preserve when westbound Higgins Road was completely blocked.

Next, in Hoffman Estates there was a crash involving two vehicles at 10:03 p.m. at Sutton Road and Golf Road. This crash possibly involved minor injuries.

Next, in Arlington Heights there was a crash involving two vehicles at 10:09 p.m. at Rand Road and Dryden Avenue. At least one person was injured and at least one vehicle received heavy front end damage.

Next, in Des Plaines there was a crash involving one vehicle at 10:51 p.m. on River Road south of Oakton Street.
