Harvard Man Struck by Vehicle and Killed Near Division St and Front St, Harvard

Harvard police and Harvard Fire/Rescue firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:41 p.m. Thursday May 17, 2018 to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at Division Street and Front Street.

Ronald L. Jacobs Sr., 69, of Harvard, was pronounced dead at the scene about 10:11 p.m. Thursday.

The McHenry County coroner’s office is investigating the death, and an autopsy Friday revealed that he died of blunt trauma of the chest, according to McHenry County Coroner Dr. Anne Majewski.

The incident is also being investigated by Harvard police and the McHenry County Sheriff’s department. The Harvard Police Department reported that Jacobs was in the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle.
