CHICAGO POLICE RELEASE IMAGES OF RED JEEP RENEGADE SUSPECT IN FATAL HIT-AND-RUN IN LAKEVIEW NEIGHBORHOOD
Chicago police, firefighters, and paramedics responded just after 9:00 p.m. Thursday April 19, 2018 to a report of a hit-and-run pedestrian incident in the block of 3300 North Halsted Street near Aldine Avenue — about one-half mile southeast of Wrigley Field.
“Major Accidents” (investigation unit) is asking for your assistance locating a vehicle wanted for a fatal Hit-and-Run accident that occurred in the 19th District at 3344 N. Halsted on April 19 at 9:07 PM. The wanted vehicle fled southbound on Halsted, described as a red Jeep Renegade with four doors.

A woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a red Jeep Renegade driving southbound on the Halsted Street near Aldine Avenue, according to the Chicago Police Department.
The victim was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as Dorata Gieslinska, age 56, of the block of 3600 North Osage Avenue.
Police released photos of the red Jeep that killed a 56-year-old woman in a Lakeview hit-and-run late Thursday. The Jeep Renegade appears to be a newer model (2014-2018) with black wheel covers and a black rooftop, and black trim around windows and wheel wells.
Chicago Police urge anyone with information about this vehicle and or suspect to call the Major Accidents Investigation Unit 312-745-4521.
