Buffalo Grove police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:53 PM Friday April 20, 2018 to a report of a gas line hit. Tower Ladder 25’s crew on arrival reported the water department was already working in the area, but did not describe the incident or the size of the gas line hit.

Police and firefighters closed intersections in the area. Nicor was on the scene by about 5:21 p.m.
Battalion Chief 4 reported about 5:27 p.m. that he had all water department employees leave the area, and requested an immediate response from a public works supervisor. No injuries were reported, and there were no known medical transports from the scene.
Battalion Chief 4 reported at 9:49 p.m. that houses in the area were cleared out and checked for natural gas levels by 9:49 p.m. All houses checked showed gas levels of 0 ppm. Fire crews cleared the scene about 9:49 p.m.
