A man with a small build and heavy concealed with a wig, sunglasses and bulky clothing is likely the same man that robbed a Cary Chase Bank, and TCF banks in Jewel-Osco stores in Huntley and Arlington Heights.

At the first bank robbery in Cary at Chase Bank, the offender appeared to be inspired by the Cousin Itt character in the the 1960s television series the Addams Family, but in the Huntley bank robbery at the TCF/Jewel-Osco, and the Arlington Heights bank robbery at the TCF/Jewel-Osco; the offender appeared to be inspired by the style of A&E reality show Duck Dynasty. Either way, the cold weather gives opportunity for bank robbers to blend in with cold weather attire that most people are wearing this time of year.

There has been a recent spike in bank robberies during this cold weather season with six bank robberies reported from December 7, 2017 to December 14, 2017. However, the recent annual trend has actually dropped in total Chicagoland by 47 bank robberies from the same time periods compared for 2017 and 2016 (January 1 to December 14). The suburbs dropped 14 bank robberies, and the City of Chicago dropped 33 bank robberies.

In separate studies, not currently provided by the FBI, carjackings have spiked in 2017 — surpassing, by mid-October 2017, the 2016 entire year carjacking figure of 663.
