Hazmat at Metro Self Storage Rand Rd, East of Ela Rd, Lake Zurich — Many Fire Units on Scene

Lake Zurich police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:05 PM Monday October 23, 2017 to a report of an unknown material spilled or leaked at Metro Self Storage, 737 South Rand Road Lake Zurich, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of an unknown product or material at the Metro Self Storage facility.

UPDATE: According to Lake Zurich Fire Rescue, chemicals in Metro Self Storage in Lake Zurich were identified as materials used in boilers. “No leaking chemicals and no hazard at this time (9:08 PM).” The business property was turned over to management company.

Lake Zurich Fire Rescue Department reports that HazMat technicians are working to identify the product.

Lake Zurich’s Fire Battalion Chief requested a MABAS Hazmat Box alarm at about 7:17 p.m.

MABAS Division 4 Box Alarm on Box #32-40 for an unknown hazmat.
