Des Plaines Police responded Saturday June 3, 2017 about 2:38 p.m. to a report of a criminal sexual assault near North Elementary School and the Catholic Charities building in the block of 1700 Rand Road. Police received a report that a 15-year-old Des Plaines girl was attacked on a pathway in a wooded area at about 2:38 p.m. behind the Catholic Charities building on the 1700 block of Rand Road.
A wooded area is located just southwest of the Catholic Charities building, and a larger wooded area is located south of North Elementary School along the Des Plaines River east of downtown Des Plaines.
A person that was apprehended immediately after the reported attack could not be identified by the victim in a physical lineup. Des Plaines police are investigating.
