Active Shooter Incident at Watts Hall at 19th Ave and College Rd, Ohio State University (Updated: Mass Stabbing)

Ohio State Univ. says a shelter-in-place warning has been lifted and the scene is secure following reports of an active shooter and at least seven people injured. Ohio State tweeted that all classes would be canceled for the rest of the day. (Nov. 28)

UPDATE: Columbus, Ohio CBS-affiliate WBNS is reporting police have killed the shooter.

Columbus police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:56 a.m. ET to active shooter at Watts Hall on the Ohio State University campus at 19th Avenue and College Road.

Ohio State University recommended anyone in the vicinity to shelter in place shortly before 10 a.m. Monday and gave a Run Hide Fight alert at 8:56 a.m. ET.

Early reports indicated at least seven people have been transported to area hospitals, apparently with gunshot wounds. The fire department reported eight people were transported to hospitals, and one patient was in critical condition. The fire department also reported that a suspect was dead at the scene. At least six ambulances were lined up on Woodruff Avenue just west of High Street staging near the active shooter incident.

The entire Ohio State University campus is on lockdown.

Ohio State University is telling students there’s an active shooter on campus and they should “Run Hide Fight.” The shooter was reportedly spotted at Watts Hall, a science and engineering building. Police vehicles were seen at the scene. (Nov. 28)
