Two Teens Robbed in Unincorporated Lake Villa While Playing Pokémon Go

Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded about 10:08 p.m. on Thursday July 14, 2016, to an armed robbery in the area of Morton Drive and Carol Lane in Unincorporated Lake Villa. Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and determined that two teenage brothers were robbed of their cellular phones.

Further investigation revealed the two teens were in the area playing Pokémon Go. While walking, a vehicle described as a dark colored older model four-door parked in their vicinity. Two subjects exited the vehicle and approached the teens. Both subjects were described as being in their early 20’s. One suspect was described as a male white with ‘spikey’ hair, and the other suspect was described as a male black, not wearing a shirt, with dreadlocks.

The male black subject displayed a firearm and took a cell phone from one of the teens. The male white suspect took the cell phone of the other teen. The subjects then fled in their vehicle. Neither teen was injured during the robbery.
