Crash with Entrapment on SB I-290/IL 53 at Biesterfield Rd Bridge with Second Hit-and-Run Crash, Elk Grove Village

Illinois State Police and Elk Grove Village and Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:54 AM Sunday to a report of crash with injuries at Il-290/Il-53 and Biesterfield Rd Elk Grove Village. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a crash with injuries on southbound Route 53 under the Biesterfield Bridge. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a vehicle crash involving a white Chevy into the bridge abutment.

Firefighter crews on arrival reported one person trapped. Firefighters were working on stabilizing the vehicle and pulling a standby hose line by 8:04 a.m.

There was a second crash at the scene with a hit-and-run offender leaving the scene by about 8:18 a.m.

Patient extricated at 8:19 a.m.
