Police in Fort Myers said at least 14 people were shot, including two dead, after an overnight shooting at a nightclub parking lot.
Fort Meyers Police responded to a report of a mass shooting about 12:30 a.m. Monday July 25, 2016 at Club Blu Bar and Grill on Evans Avenue. Police and firefighter/paramedics found several victims suffering from gunshot wounds. At least 14-16 patients were discovered at the scene with the injured suffering minor injuries and life threatening injuries, and transported to area hospitals.
Police said there are two other scenes connected to the shooting — 2550 Parkway Street where a home and vehicles were shot up, one minor injury was reported.
The other scene is on Ortiz Avenue between Luckett Road and Ballard Road where a person of interest was apprehended and taken into custody, according to police.
Witnesses saw police canvass the crime scenes — searching for any possible witnesses.
