Attempted Theft with Fraudulent Return at Lowe’s on Algonquin Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 6:31 PM Wednesday of a theft at Lowe’s Home Improvement 990 West Algonquin Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender removed three Harbor Breeze ceiling fans, combined value of $656, from the shelves and brought them to the customer service counter to initiate a fraudulent return.

The offender was described as a black male.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 between 6:02 PM and 6:30 PM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 0:28 (hours: minutes).

Police did not report whether the suspect was confronted about the attempt, or whether he stopped the theft on his own inititiative.
