A jury has awarded Erin Andrews $55 million in her lawsuit over a secretly recorded nude video that a stalker took of her in a hotel room and posted online.

A jury on Monday, March 7, 2016, awarded $55 million to Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews in her lawsuit against a Nashville Marriott hotel on Monday.

Andrews sued the Nashville Marriott alleging negligence when a man who was stalking her was allowed to book the room next to hers and surreptitiously film nude videos of her in 2008 while she worked for ESPN. The convicted stalker, Michael David Barrett, posted the videos online and pleaded guilty to stalking charges. Barrett was sentenced to 30 months in prison.

Andrews’s suit sought $75 million in damages. She testified last week that she always checks her hotel room and items in the hotel room for recording devices. She said the incident also has affected her relationships.
