Israeli Firm Cellebrite May Help FBI Hack San Bernardino Terrorist’s iPhone

CNBC: Cellebrite — a subsidiary of Sun Corporation — is helping authorities extract data from the Apple device.

Cellebrite, founded in 1999, manufactures various data extraction, transfer and analysis devices for cellular phones and mobile devices, and is headquartered in Petah Tikva, Israel. In 2007, Cellebrite was acquired by FutureDial Incorporated and Sun Corporation in Japan

Cellebrite has two separate business divisions:

Cellebrite Wireless Carriers & Retailers, which manufactures phone-to-phone content transfer and backup products used by AT&T, Verizon, Sprint Nextel, T-Mobile, Orange, Telstra.

Cellebrite Mobile Forensics, founded in 2007, produces software and hardware for mobile forensics purposes used by federal, state, and local law enforcement; intelligence agencies; military branches; corporate security and investigations; law firms; and private digital forensic examiners in more than 60 countries..

The FBI tells the judge a third party’ demonstrated an alternate method for unlocking the iPhone in postponing a hearing with Apple.
