CBSN: Google Is Building a Live-Streaming App “Youtube Connect”

Google is building an app to compete with Facebook’s live feeds and Twitter’s Periscope. With more, CNET’s Jeff Bakalar joins CBSN.

Google is reportedly working on a live-streaming video app called YouTube Connect that is expected to be released soon for both iOS and Android. Google has not confirmed the report.

Facebook was first
Facebook rolled out streaming video about six months ago.

Is Google taking on Periscope?
One major target of YouTube Connect might be Pericsope, which was acquired January 2015 by Twitter before the the streaming video had been publicly launched. On December 9, 2015, Apple named Periscope as the iPhone App of the Year.
