Arlington Heights Firefighters Respond for Re-Kindling of Warehouse on East Davis St

#ad▼

As is normal in a large warehouse fire, the ruins of the warehouse at 2375 East Davis Street continued to show some smoke two days after the fire broke out. Firefighters were at the scene at least four times Friday to washdown some areas that rekindled in the building.

Smoke from the fire that broke out about 6:09 a.m. Thursday morning could be smelled as far a Mariano’s parking lot on Friday.

Saturday, a few areas of the destroyed building were smoking, but no flames were seen.

Many people called 9-1-1 Friday and Saturday to report that the building was on fire again.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire very quickly Thursday, especially considering the size of the fire, the size of the building and the heat that was involved with the fire. Three tower ladders — one each from Arlington Heights, Des Plaines and Mount Prospect — poured their master streams onto the destroyed building as it burned Thursday morning.

By Saturday afternoon firefighters were not responding to minor smoke reports, but were ordered to respond if flames were visible.
