VIDEO: Immediately after a small plane crashed into a mobile home in Lake Worth, Florida.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue firefighters responded about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday after a report of a plane crash near Lake Worth Road and Congress Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters reported a mobile home fully-involved with flames, and another partially involved with heavy fire.
The pilot of the crashed aircraft and a resident of a mobile home were killed in the plane crash. Banny Galicia stayed home from school on Tuesday and was sleeping in her bedroom, while her dad Domingo Galicia stepped outside and witnessed the plane crash into his mobile home. He tried to go inside to rescue his daughter, but the fire was too intense.
Pilot Dan Shalloway was killed when the Piper PA-28-180 he was flying crashed into the Mar-Mak Colony Club mobile home park. The aircraft was on approach to the Palm Beach County Park Airport near Lantana, just southeast of the Mar-Mak Colony Club Mobile Home Park. The aircraft was about 1 1/3 mile northwest of Runway 15 following a trip from an Orlando-area airport that has not yet been specified.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue had not confirmed how many people were killed in a small plane crash yesterday, but a father says his 21-year-old daughter was killed inside their mobile home.
