Wheeling police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:31 PM Tuesday to a report of a townhouse fire at 1606 Newburn Ct Wheeling, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a reports from multiple callers of flames showing from a townhouse/condo.
About seven people were reported evacuated from the townhouse.
The fire response was upgraded to a box alarm at 7:51 p.m.
Fire command reported at 8:04 p.m. that they were going defensive at the building, and were checking that all firefighters were accounted.
Firefighters were setting up tower ladders also at 8:04 p.m.
Firefighters from Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Deerfield, Elk Grove Township, Lake Zurich, Lincolnshire, Long Grove, Northbrook, Prospect Heights, and Rolling Meadows assisted Wheeling firefighters either at the scene or standing by in fire stations.
