Metra North Central Service Stopped for Power Lines Down on Tracks by Rosemont O’Hare Transfer Station and Higgins Rd and River Rd, Des Plaines — Power Outage

Des Plaines police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:52 PM Monday to a report of power lines down near Higgins Road and River Road Des Plaines, IL. Des Plaines firefighters reported power lines down in multiple locations and reported a major power outage affecting Rosemont.

Police and firefighter/paramedics or ComEd teams have received reports of power lines down and transformer explosions in Chicagoland Monday. West winds were gusting to about 30 mph Monday about noon.

Firefighters in Chicagoland have also responded to a few elevator rescues due to power failures.

About 100 customers were without power from a downed tree near Oakland Drive and Sheridan Road.

About 51 people were without power near Garfield Drive and Monroe Avenue in Carpentersville.

Train #105, scheduled to arrive Antioch at 2:35 PM, is stopped due to wires laying across the tracks near Rosemont. Commonwealth Edison crews are currently working on the problem. The duration of this delay is unknown. Metra will update this site as information becomes available.
