Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District Chief Peter Van Dorpe begins today after two years as Assistant Fire Chief at Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District and 33 years with the Chicago Fire Department.

Born and raised in Chicago, Van Dorpe spent began his career with the Chicago Fire Department, where he was promoted to chief of the training division.
