Murder/Suicide Investigation at Arlington Heights Motel 6; Police Release Identity of Victim

Death investigation with MCAT on scene at Motel 6 on West Algonquin Rd, Arlington Heights.

Arlington Heights police released information Friday that a death investigation that began Thursday afternoon has revealed the incident to be a murder/suicide with both parties dying as a result of stabs/lacerations caused by a knife. The involved parties knew each other and had a dating relationship, according to the Arlington Heights Police Department.

Police have released the identity of the female victim as Ceclia Perez, age 41, of Aurora, Illinois.

Police did not release the identity of the offender pending family notification.

Police report that Thursday about 1:00 p.m. Motel 6 staff entered the locked room and found a large amount of blood on the floor. Upon arrival, Arlington Heights police officers discovered two deceased adults in the motel room.

Arlington Heights police released details just about 24 hours after the violent crime was discovered.
