Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has announced he is seeking the Republican nomination for president in 2016.

During his announcement, Huckabee said that he would “conquer Jihadism” and protect Social Security.

Huckabee said on CBS’s “Face the Nation” in April that he’s confident he can broaden his appeal beyond evangelical Christians and social conservatives to reach working-class Republicans concerned about the economy.

Huckabee ran for president in 2008. He received strong support from evangelical Christians and won in the Iowa caucuses, but Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), won most of the following primaries. Huckabee withdrew from the 2008 presidential race in March.

Huckabee earned additional wealth since 2008 by working in the lecture circuit and on his TV and radio shows. His weekend show on Fox News ended when he announced that he might be running for president.
