French Prime Minister: No Survivors in Air Bus Crash in Alps

The Germanwings Airbus A320 aircraft “Flight 4U 9525 took off from Barcelona with 144 passengers on board. The aircraft crash occurred near the midpoint of its flight from Barcelona to Dusseldorf. The area of the crash is remote with difficult access.

The aircraft showed a decline in speed at about 5:11 a.m. EDT while it was climbing. The aircraft gained speed again and continued to climb for another 20 minutes before it started its descent that led to a the crash.

With a good safety record, authorities are still trying to find out why a Germanwings A320 Airbus crashed in the French Alps. CNN’s Chad Myers reports.

The French Prime Minister has confirmed that a Germanwings plane has crashed in Southern France.

French authorities say the last words in a distress call from Germanwings Flight 9525 were “emergency, emergency.”

Crash recovery teams gather in French Alps staging area.

People gathered at Germany’s Duesseldorf airport shortly after news that a jetliner carrying at least 150 people had crashed in a remote area of the French Alps as it was flying from Barcelona, Spain to Duesseldorf.
