Car Crash at 156th St and Cicero Ave After Police Pursuit Causes Power Outage in Oak Forest, Midlothian Area

Alsip police 2:39 AM Thursday reported they terminated a police pursuit north of Cicero Ave and 151 Street Oak Forest, IL. Alsip police terminated a high speed police pursuit about 2:39 a.m. Minutes later a blacked out car traveling southbound on Cicero Avenue at a speeds estimated at 120 mph crashed.

The car with no headlights lit possibly crashed into power pole. Police in the area reported seeing an explosion and power line arcing before finding the location of the crash.

A suspect fled southeast from the crash scene. It is unknown at this time if anyone else was in the crashed car. The crashed vehicle was possibly a stolen vehicle.

ComEd reports over 1,600 people are without power in the area.
