As a group of protesters blocked northbound I-5 in La Jolla, Tyree Landrum — a driver already late for work — had enough and decided to do something.

In solidarity with Ferguson civil unrest, protesters on I-5 in La Jolla, California near San Diego blocked I-5 northbound lanes, which resulted in angry commuters who were delayed to work.

Protesters planned to project their protest against perceived civil rights violations against fatal police-involved shooting victim Michael Brown of Ferguson, MO to an anti-consumer rant against Black Friday.

Some people involved in the Ferguson riots have been discovered to be agitators part of the Occupy movement, which protest against social and economic equality.

In general the Occupy Movement protests how large corporations and the global financial system control the world in a way that disproportionately benefits a super-wealthy minority or “1%” which they also perceive as protected by a military-like police force. The police action in Ferguson is reported to have resonated with outsiders who see the situation in Ferguson, Missouri as an example of an immoral, vertical financial hierarchy that is destroying democracy.
