Several visitors of the park — some who are homeless — frequently look out for each other, but often they are believed to be intoxicated or disoriented. Police and firefighter/paramedics often respond to make the determination whether the visitors of the park are too intoxicated to care for themselves. If they’re too intoxicated to care for themselves, they are transported to Northwest Community Hospital for medical attention.

  1. We’ve been plagued by bad behavior from the homeless for years now in Arlington. North School Park has police and/or ambulances coming at least once a week in the nice weather. Between them urinating and defecating near the park district building, sleeping on the ground or concrete tiers (they can’t lay down on the benches b/c there are dividers there now), drinking, and smoking, they have taken over the north end of the park, making it off limits for the tax paying public. Then they make a mess in the library and take over entire tables with all their junk. Everyone is afraid to say anything to them so once again political correctness trumps the rights and well being of those who pay taxes.
