Reaction to Elliot Rodger Homicides; Misogyny Culture? More Complex?

#ad▼

Marc Lamont Hill and Kelly Wallace discuss how the homicides of Elliot Rodger have turned attention to a misogynist sub-culture.

Multiple homicides often bring questions of blame — ranging from guns, to violent movies and television, to video games, to antidepressants and other drugs linked to violence, to misogyny.

Unfortunately, the comment about teaching men not to slip a drug into a woman’s drink seems a little off base to many. Men, as well as women, shouldn’t leave their drinks unattended. After all, Elliot Rodger killed more men than women (four men and two women) in his rampage. He hated men that were “brutes”, and the women that were attracted to those men.

Action not condolences: Anderson Cooper speaks with Richard Martinez, the dad of Isla Vista shooting victim Christopher Ross Michaels-Martinez.
